The Wonersh Players performed a short play tracing the history of Chilworth Manor at their Open Day on 8th & 9th June 2019. The play only lasted 15 minutes, was performed three times each afternoon in the open air (regardless of the foul weather) and featured several historical characters including Henry VIII and Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough

Nobody has more fun

After seeing our first pantomime, a critic from a local magazine wrote “Nobody has more fun than the Wonersh Players”, and that atmosphere still remains.

The Wonersh Players

The Wonersh Players is an amateur dramatic society that write, produce and perform their own pantomimes. They are an easy going, like-minded group of friends who enjoy putting on a show, and love entertaining audiences. The quality of the costumes and scenery are second to none, and the scripts are both traditional and innovative.

The Wonersh Players have been in existence since 1982, always performing their pantomimes at the Wonersh Memorial Hall during the February Half Term Holiday, with rehearsals starting the previous Autumn.

They have also tackled more challenging project; performing highly regarded Murder Mystery plays, an open air historical drama and a critically acclaimed one act play about Wonersh during the Great War.

If you would like to join the Wonersh Players, as an actor, a musician or on the Production Team, feel free to get in touch with us through the Contact Us page of this site. New members are always welcome.
